I am not quite sure what is going on with hotel rooms lately, but the air conditioning seems to be limited at night. It was a fairly comfortable room. We grabbed a muffin at the little store and a coffee before heading out to get gas and then head to the Rogers Centre. Traffic was fairly light and it only took us about 35 minutes to arrive at the garage that is adjacent to the Rogers Centre. I tried to get a shot of the tower as I was stopped at a red light, but unfortunately cut the top of it off.
Our seats were really good and we were out of the sun, which was important.
Interesting to see the players honored in a ring of honor, but only Ray Halladay has had his number retired along Jackie Robinson’s.
We grabbed some lunch - Earle poutine of course and I had a hot dog because I wasn’t super hungry.
It was a good game with the Blue Jays beating the Tigers 4-1 in the world’s shortest baseball game. We headed back to the garage, a quick walk and exit. The traffic was quite baked up and it took about 25 minutes to really get on the road. It was still almost an hour before we had anticipated.
Luckily or not we tuned into the Pirates as they were losing 8-2 with some untimely errors. We headed north to Norman and Catherine’s and arrived a little after 5. Unloaded all our stuff and their stuff and it was time for wine. How great to sit and talk over a few bottles!
Catherine showed off her cooking prowess and prepared a chicken and linguine dish with veggies and a delicious sauce.
A few more glasses of wine in the Muskoka room before bed. Great day.
