North Carolina Escape - Mars to Hendersonville - Day 1 - 26 March 2022

Woke up to an intense lake effect snow storm, but that didn't deter us. Left the house about 8:40 and continued to drive through the the snow through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and most of Virginia.

Finally, midway through Tennessee we were finally able to see the sun and the drive became enjoyable. We had to stop to clear off the ice that had formed on the sensors for the smart cruise control Never had that happen before. We couldn't figure out why the cruise was not working.

Got to Eagle Rock, our home for the next few days about 5:30. It is a beautiful home and so comfortable. Barbara and Charles arrived shortly after and we then tried to figure out what was beeping in the house. We finally discovered that the dishwasher wanted us to reset it.

Brought everything in and opened the first bottle of wine- the important part of the journey. After deciding that none of us were in the mood or sobriety to drive, we ordered from Buffalo Wild Wings. Delivery was expedient, but it was not our order. Oh, well time for more wine while we watched the NCAA March Madness Games.

How do you go wrong with a cozy fire ?

Reordered and finally dinner came! The wings hit the spot with a brownie or two for dessert. Where did that 2nd bottle of wine go?

On to bed. We will figure out the rest of the vacation tomorrow!
